Love and Fear

Are you proactive or reactive?

There are two base emotions: Love and fear, everything else stems from this place.

Love is proactive.

Fear is reactive.

When you operate from a place of fear, rather than a place of Love, you cannot succeed. The primary motivation of fear is damage control; to prevent self from experiencing hurt. Fear is risk adverse; and without risk of failure, risk of hurt, there is no possibility of success. And without the possibility of success, there is no hope. Fear is the easy way out, short-term. Fear is the promise of absolute failure and ultimately unhappiness.

Love, on the other hand, accepts the risk. Love stands up and does the right thing. Love accepts the fact that there will be pain and suffering, but knows that in doing the right thing, there will be more happiness and fulfillment long-term.

To do the right thing is to believe in love and to right your course for today and tomorrow.

Aphorism #3

Life is a temporary condition, therefore it follows that everything in life is temporary as well.

Aphorism #2

Never, ever miss an opportunity to let someone know that you Love them. Tell them. Show them. Love is not something that needs to be hidden away behind hurt.

Aphorism #1

You are born alone and you will die alone, what is important is that you do not spend the time in between alone.

A Simple Path

All people come to things in their own way and in their own time, this is the path. The path is yours and yours alone. There is no map, no guide, no right or wrong way to go; you create your own path with every step.

Enlightenment is not simply going to happen. It will not come all at once. Enlightenment happens step-by-step along the path, first acknowledging the search and then becoming aware of the path. This is a step. Soon you own your path, this too, is a step. Then you become aware of the power of your path, the beauty and these are steps as well.

So long as you live and breathe, you walk the path. There is no destination except to take another step and to enjoy all that is in the moment. There is no arriving, only appreciating the journey. And all of this seems very generalized and generic, I am sure; but it is your life, it is your canvas.
